Apathy is what has caused the earth to be as defiled by Satan and his cohorts today. As people believe that whatever evil is happening does not affect them and say nothing, it always spreads to affect them. Jesus warned those who cried for Him about how injustice spreads when nothing is done about it. He said: A large crowd followed Jesus. Some of the women were sad and crying. They felt sorry for him. But Jesus turned and said to the women, "Women of Jerusalem, don't cry for me. Cry for yourselves and for your children too. The time is coming when people will say, 'The women who cannot have babies are the ones God has blessed. It's really a blessing that they have no children to care for.' Then the people will say to the mountains, 'Fall on us!' They will say to the hills, 'Cover us!' If this can happen to someone who is good, what will happen to those who are guilty (Luk 23:27-31 ERV)?" The persecution of the righteous always happens and spreads when people turn a blind eye to it because it is not happening to them. Similarly, when a human turns a blind eye to the killing, raping, bullying, kidnapping, harassment, or firing of another human or co-worker, you would see that same injustice coming to catch up with the apathetic human. Apathy is wood that gives more strength to Satan’s fire of injustice on this earth.
Apathy is a spiritual state of uselessness to God (Father YAH) which makes you an ideal tool for abuse by Satan. Apathy creates audacity for Satan and his cohorts in your life. What is the meaning of apathy? The one who practices sin [separating himself from God, and offending Him by acts of disobedience, indifference, or rebellion] is of the devil [and takes his inner character and moral values from him, not God]; for the devil has sinned and violated God’s law from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil (1 Jhn 3:8 AMP). Apathy means living your life in a state of indifference, saying: "anything that would happen will happen.” You are in turn saying “I don’t care what happens if I sin.” “I don’t care what happens when people sin around me or on this earth.” Destruction is always what happens! Why? The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy… (Jhn 10:10 ESV emphasis mine). Apathy helps Satan achieve the aforementioned.
Now, let us take a lesson on apathy to learn more about it through the story of Eli in the Holy Bible.
A Lesson on Apathy
It does not matter who you are, apathy would never make you acceptable to Father YAH nor will He reward apathy. Apathy is costly! How costly? Eli’s story shows us how apathy led to the revocation of Father YAH’s gifts and calling from Eli and his sons. What happened in this story? Let us take it in sequence:
Eli’s sons showed total disrespect for Father YAH and His Law. Hophni and Phinehas were Eli’s sons. These two were Levites who knew the laws regarding sacrificing to Father YAH but deliberately disobeyed it: Eli's sons were evil men who did not care about the LORD. They did not care about how priests were supposed to treat people. Whenever someone brings a sacrifice, priests are supposed to put the meat in a pot of boiling water. Then their servant is supposed to get the three-pronged fork and use it to get some meat out of the pot or kettle. The priest is supposed to take whatever his helper removes from the pot with the special fork. This is what the priests should have done for the Hebrews who came to offer sacrifices at Shiloh. But that is not what the sons of Eli did. Even before the fat was burned on the altar, their servant would go to the people offering sacrifices and say, "Give the priest some meat to roast. The priest won't accept boiled meat from you." Maybe the man offering the sacrifice would say, "Burn the fat first, and then you can take whatever you want." But the servant would answer: "No, give me the meat now. If you don't give it to me, I'll take it from you!" In this way Hophni and Phinehas showed that they did not respect the offerings made to the LORD. This was a terrible sin against the LORD (1 Sam 2:12-17 ERV emphasis mine).
Hophni and Phinehas did not stop at violating the laws regarding sacrificing but were fornicating (i.e. committing adultery) with the Levite women who served at Father YAH’s temple: Eli was very old. He heard about the bad things his sons were doing to the Hebrews at Shiloh and how his sons were having sexual relations with the women who served at the door of the Meeting Tent (1 Sam 2:22 ERV emphasis mine).
Eli then took it upon himself to rebuke his sons but never took any action against them to show the seriousness of their crime: Eli said to his sons, "The people here told me about the evil things you have done. Why are you doing such things? Sons, stop that! The LORD'S people are saying bad things about you. If you sin against other people, God might protect you. But who can help you if you sin against the LORD?" Eli's sons refused to listen to him, so the LORD decided to kill them (1 Sam 2:23-25 ERV). Consequently, Father YAH rebuked Eli about what His sons were doing: A man of God came to Eli and said, "The LORD says, 'I appeared to your ancestors when they were slaves of Pharaoh. From all the tribes of Israel, I chose your tribe to be my priests. I chose them to offer sacrifices on my altar, to burn incense, and wear the ephod. I also let your tribe have the meat from the sacrifices that the Hebrews give to me (1 Sam 2:27-28 ERV emphasis mine).
Next, Father YAH revoked Eli’s gift and calling as priest: Why then do you kick at (despise) My sacrifice and My offering which I commanded in My dwelling place, and honor your sons more than Me, by fattening yourselves with the choicest part of every offering of My people Israel?’ “Therefore the LORD God of Israel declares, ‘I did indeed say that your house and that of [Aaron] your father would walk [in priestly service] before Me forever.’ But now the LORD declares, ‘Far be it from Me—for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be insignificant and contemptible (1 Sam 2:29-30 AMP). Father YAH goes further to speak judgment on Eli and his household: The time is coming when I will destroy all your descendants. No one in your family will live to be an old man. Good things will happen to Israel, but you will see bad things happening at home. No one in your family will live to be an old man. There is only one man I will save to serve as priest at my altar. He will live until his eyes wear out and his strength is gone. But all of your descendants will die by the sword. I will give you a sign to show that these things will come true. Your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will die on the same day. I will choose a priest I can trust. This priest will listen to me and do what I want. I will make his family strong, and he will always serve before my chosen king. Then whoever is left in your family will come and bow down before this priest and beg for a little money or a piece of bread. They will say, "Please give me a job as priest so that I can have some food to eat (1 Sam 2:31-36 ERV). Having apathy and an entitlement mindset towards the things of Father YAH will always cost you to forfeit your place. We see from this judgment that it does not matter what Father YAH has said about you or your commission or even a covenant. Every of Father YAH’s commission or covenant works by obedience, and obedience is only possible when you have a privilege mindset towards the things of God (Father YAH).
Instead of Eli to show repentance, Eli responded to Father YAH’s judgment with apathy. Father YAH told Samuel who helped Eli what Eli had done and what He was going to do to Eli and his sons: The LORD said to Samuel, "I will soon do things in Israel that will shock anyone who hears about them. I will do everything I said I would do against Eli and his family, everything from the beginning to the end. I told Eli I would punish his family forever. I will do this because Eli knew his sons were saying and doing bad things against God. But he failed to control them. That is why I swore an oath that sacrifices and offerings will never take away the sins of the people in Eli's family." Samuel lay down in bed until the morning came. He got up early and opened the doors of the LORD'S house. Samuel was afraid to tell Eli about the vision. But Eli said to Samuel, "Samuel, my son." Samuel answered, "Yes, sir." Eli asked, "What did God say to you? Don't hide it from me. God will punish you if you hide anything from the message he spoke to you." So Samuel told Eli everything. He did not hide anything from him. Eli said, "He is the LORD. Let him do whatever he thinks is right (1 Sam 3:11-18 ERV)." Apathy will cost you eternity with Father YAH! For this reason, it never pays to keep those who disrespect Father YAH around you because you would also learn such bad manners consciously or unconsciously.
How did it end for Eli and his sons? It was a shameful death! While the Hebrews fought with the Philistines, Father YAH’s prophecy came to pass: And the ark of God was captured, and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died. A man of Benjamin ran from the battle line and came to Shiloh the same day, with his clothes torn and with dirt on his head. When he arrived, Eli was sitting on his seat by the road watching, for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city and told the news, all the city cried out. When Eli heard the sound of the outcry, he said, “What is this uproar?” Then the man hurried and came and told Eli. Now Eli was ninety-eight years old and his eyes were set so that he could not see. And the man said to Eli, “I am he who has come from the battle; I fled from the battle today.” And he said, “How did it go, my son?” He who brought the news answered and said, “Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has also been a great defeat among the people. Your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured.” As soon as he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell over backward from his seat by the side of the gate, and his neck was broken and he died, for the man was old and heavy. He had judged Israel forty years (1 Sam 4:11-18 ESV). King Saul completed killing Eli’s family when he also rebelled against Father YAH. Was Father YAH joking when He warned Eli? No, He was not! Overfamiliarity is also something we can take away from this story because many Hebrews took Father YAH’s words as a joke similar to how many in the Church do today. At the end, they are destroyed when Father YAH’s words come to pass.
Eli showing apathy when Father YAH rebuked him for choosing his sons over Father YAH made him die shamefully and his name was blotted out from the priestly records. Now, you see why Eli’s name is not found in many records containing the names of the Levites or priests of the Hebrews. Do you see how that is similar to how Cain’s name was blotted out of the genealogy of Adam after he killed Abel? Eli became saltless! Jesus said: "Salt is a good thing. But if the salt loses its salty taste, you can't make it salty again. It is worth nothing. You can't even use it as dirt or dung. People just throw it away. "You people who hear me, listen (Luk 14:34-35 ERV)!" If you see how costly apathy is, why is there apathy in the Church of Christ today?
Apathy in the Church of Christ
Apathy is not Father YAH’s mindset for a believer on anything that is important to keeping you one with Him. Apathy is lukewarmness! A lukewarm believer would be spat out: "I know what you do. You are not hot or cold. I wish that you were hot or cold! But you are only warm—not hot, not cold. So I am ready to spit you out of my mouth (Rev 3:15-16 ERV). Let us take it in another translation: I know all that you do, and I know that you are neither frozen in apathy nor fervent with passion. How I wish you were either one or the other! But because you are neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm, I am about to spit you from my mouth (Rev 3:15-16 TPT). So, I say to believers that their calling is not to turn a blind eye to the evil happenings in the Church or on the earth. That was not how Enoch did it.
Enoch petitioned rather than just accept the total destruction of humankind when Father YAH showed him in a vision: And now, my son Methuselah, I will show you all my visions which I have seen, recounting them before you. I saw two visions before I got married (took a wife), and the one was quite unlike the other: the first when I was learning to write: the second before I married (took) your mother, was when I saw a terrible vision. And regarding them I prayed to the Lord. I had laid down in the house of my grandfather Mahalalel, when I saw in a vision how heaven collapsed and was carried off (removed, torn down) and fell to the earth. And when it fell to the earth I saw how the earth was swallowed up in a great abyss, and mountains were suspended on mountains, and hills sank down on hills, and high trees were ripped from their stems, and hurled down and sunk in the abyss. And then a word fell into my mouth, and I lifted up my voice to cry aloud, and said: 'The earth is destroyed.' And my grandfather Mahalalel woke me as I lay near him, and said to me: 'Why do you cry so, my son, and why do you make such moaning (lamentation)?' And I recounted to him the whole vision which I had seen, and he said to me: 'You have seen a terrible thing, my son. Your dream (vision) is of a grave time and concerns the secrets of all the sin of the earth: it must sink into the abyss and be totally destroyed. And now, my son, arise and pray to the Lord of glory, since you are a believer, that a remnant may remain on the earth, and that He may not destroy the whole earth. My son, from heaven all this will come on the earth, and on the earth there will be great destruction (Enoch 83:1-9). From this point, Enoch began his intercession for the longevity of humanity with the following words: After that I arose and prayed and implored and besought (God), and wrote down my prayer for the generations of the world, and I will show everything to you, my son Methuselah (Enoch 83:10).
And I lifted up my hands in righteousness and blessed the Holy and Great One, and spoke with the breath of my mouth, and with the tongue of flesh, which God has made for the children of the flesh of humans, that they should speak therewith, and He gave them breath and a tongue and a mouth that they should speak therewith: Blessed be you, 0 Lord, King, Great and mighty in your greatness, Lord of the whole creation of heaven, King of kings and God of the whole world. And your power and kingship and greatness abide for ever and ever, and throughout all generations your dominion and all heavens are your throne for ever, and the whole earth your footstool for ever and ever. For you have made and you rule all things, and nothing is too hard for you, wisdom never departs from the place of your throne, nor turns away from your presence. You know and see and hear everything, and there is nothing hidden from you for you see everything (Enoch 84:1-3 emphasis mine).
Then Enoch proceeded with petitioning Father YAH regarding the source of the problem on the earth: And now the angels of your heavens are guilty of trespass, and on the flesh of humans abide your wrath until the great day of judgment. And now, O God and Lord and Great King, I implore and beseech you to fulfill my prayer, to leave me a posterity on earth, and not destroy all the flesh of human, and make the earth without inhabitant, so that there should be an eternal destruction. And now, my Lord, destroy from the earth the flesh which has aroused your wrath, but the flesh of righteousness and uprightness establish as an eternal plant bearing seed forever, and hide not your face from the prayer of your servant, O Lord (Enoch 84:4-6 emphasis mine).' Enoch was a solution provider, not someone who had apathy saying “what would happen would happen.” Rather, he was very clear on the remote cause of the problem like Eve was in exposing the serpent. Likewise, Enoch clearly exposed the source of the evil on the earth as coming from Satan and his cohorts. Also, he went further to ask for the earth to be sanitized of everyone who grieves Father YAH and co-operated with Satan to incur Father YAH’s wrath on the whole earth. Thus, he asked Father YAH to separate light from darkness on the earth by sifting out the bad eggs from it.
Enoch never stopped interceding for humanity before he left the earth because he cared for the works of Father YAH’s hands called humans to not be totally wiped out. Thus, he also tells the righteous to petition to save the earth from being destroyed by Satan and his cohorts when he said: Be it known to you, you sinners, that the Most High is mindful of your destruction, and the angels of heaven rejoice over your destruction. What will you do, you sinners, and where shall you flee on that day of judgment, when you hear the voice of the prayer of the righteous (Enoch 97:2-3)?
You are salt: Your lives are like salt among the people. But if you, like salt, become bland, how can your ‘saltiness’ be restored? Flavorless salt is good for nothing and will be thrown out and trampled on by others (Mat 5:13 TPT). If you join the world or begin to think like the world, I tell you that you will become saltless and be trampled upon by the world. Another translation puts it this way: “You are the world’s seasoning, to make it tolerable. If you lose your flavor, what will happen to the world? And you yourselves will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless (Mat 5:13 TLB). Do not lose your usefulness!
The Cure for Apathy
The cure for apathy is becoming a remnant of Father YAH and staying so. Who is a remnant? Then Pilate responded, “Oh, so then you are a king?” “You are right.” Jesus said, “I was born a King, and I have come into this world to prove what truth really is. And everyone who loves the truth will receive my words (Jhn 18:37 TPT).”
But the time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. In fact, that time is now here. And these are the kind of people the Father wants to be his worshipers. God is spirit. So the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth (Jhn 4:23-24 ERV)." Remnants are those who receive Jesus’ words in truth and remain teachable to Jesus. Some remnants may be in sin and may not be believers but when they are told the truth they correct themselves and then walk in the truth. This is because remnants are people who have longed to please God (Father YAH) but never knew how to until they were corrected. A remnant can only be located with the help of the Holy Spirit, not by your optical eyes, or might: And here is the basis for their judgment: The Light of God has now come into the world, but the hearts of people love their darkness more than the Light, because they want the darkness to conceal their evil. So the wicked hate the Light and try to hide from it, for their lives are fully exposed in the Light. But those who love the truth will come out into the Light and welcome its exposure, for the Light will reveal that their fruitful works were produced by God (Jhn 3:19-21 TPT).”
The Father is the one who sent me, and he is the one who brings people to me. I will raise them up on the last day. Anyone the Father does not bring to me cannot come to me (Jhn 6:44 ERV).
It is in being a remnant that you would remain useful now and until eternity. Zacchaeus helps us see how we should react to being at peace with Father YAH and even live a life that is pleasing to Him. Let us look at what Zacchaeus did: Jesus was going through the city of Jericho. In Jericho there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a wealthy, very important tax collector. He wanted to see who Jesus was. There were many others who wanted to see Jesus too. Zacchaeus was too short to see above the people. So he ran to a place where he knew Jesus would come. Then he climbed a sycamore tree so he could see him. When Jesus came to where Zacchaeus was, he looked up and saw him in the tree. Jesus said, "Zacchaeus, hurry! Come down! I must stay at your house today." Zacchaeus hurried and came down. He was happy to have Jesus in his house. Everyone saw this. They began to complain, "Look at the kind of man Jesus is staying with. Zacchaeus is a sinner!" Zacchaeus said to the Lord, "I want to do good. I will give half of my money to the poor. If I have cheated anyone, I will pay them back four times more." Jesus said, "Today is the day for this family to be saved from sin. Yes, even this tax collector is one of God's chosen people. The Son of Human came to find lost people and save them (Luk 19:1-10 ERV emphasis mine)." From this story, we can see how eager Zacchaeus was to repent. Remain a remnant because that will keep you on fire for Father YAH, not lukewarm or cold. Lukewarm or cold always ends in Hell. Only hot makes it to Heaven! Always remember that remnants are those who want God (Father YAH), but never knew the way to Him or have gone in the wrong direction of sin but are teachable and willing to be corrected by God (Father YAH), e.g. Eve, Rahab, Ruth, the Adulterous woman, Matthew (Levi), and Zacchaeus. Remnants are willing to let go of everything to become God’s friend (i.e. Father YAH’s friend): Great blessings belong to those who want to do right more than anything else. God will fully satisfy them (Mat 5:6 ERV). Why does Father YAH love and focus on the remnants? It is because He knows that not everyone wants to serve Him, as many people want Satan who encourages them in lawlessness. Thus, He focuses on those who want Him, not those who do not want Him but wish to use Him and His blessings for their selfish desires. Such people who want to use Father YAH for what they can get from Him end up becoming fanatics like the Pharisees and enemies of Father YAH.
Having discussed apathy, we are now in the judgment section to fix some things on the earth. Therefore, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I speak the following words and it becomes a reality now. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
Judgment
1) I declare an immediate and special judgment by the Holy Spirit on every spirit behind teaching humans apathy in any area including in the things of God (Father YAH). In Jesus’ name. I declare that a great example be made out of you for everyone to learn from now and until Jesus comes again. In Jesus’ name. Amen! I place a special curse that is eternal by the Holy Spirit on the repeat of this crime on this earth now and until Jesus comes again. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
2) I declare an immediate and special judgment by the Holy Spirit on every human who has deliberately watched as the earth is ruined because of their own selfish desires. In Jesus’ name. Amen! I place a special curse that is eternal by the Holy Spirit on the repeat of this crime on this earth now and until Jesus comes again. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
3) I declare an immediate and special judgment by the Holy Spirit on every human who has deliberately watched as the Church of Christ is ruined because of their own selfish desires. In Jesus’ name. Amen! I place a special curse that is eternal by the Holy Spirit on the repeat of this crime on this earth now and until Jesus comes again. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
4) I declare an immediate and special judgment by the Holy Spirit on every human promoter of apathy that is deliberately leading other humans into apathy to empower sin on this earth. In Jesus’ name. Amen! I declare that a great example be made out of you for everyone to learn from now and until Jesus comes again. In Jesus’ name. Amen! I place a special curse that is eternal by the Holy Spirit on the repeat of this crime on this earth now and until Jesus comes again. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
5) I declare that those humans who have watched the earth and the Church burn down without doing anything to salvage it, change it or help it, do not get to enjoy Father YAH’s rewards for those who did something about it. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
6) Using Nigeria as my point of contact, I declare that every human who did not do anything to salvage Nigeria, change Nigeria, or help Nigeria now are cut out from Father YAH’s plan for the New Nigeria. In Jesus’ name. Amen! This is the same for every nation on this earth. Every human who failed to realign their nation back to Father YAH’s will and goodness are cut out from enjoying the fruits and rewards of that nation that Father YAH is giving to those who did something about it. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
7) I declare that every human who did not do anything to salvage the Church of Christ, change her or help her now are cut out from Father YAH’s plan for the New Jerusalem (i.e. Zion) and the Church of Christ on this earth. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
8) I now release all the blessings and rewards on every human who worked to salvage, change, and help Nigeria, their nations, and the Church of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen! Everyone who did it from an individual level by being a good human to another human also benefits from these blessings. In Jesus’ name. Amen! Everyone who did it from an individual level by being a good human to another human stranger in their land benefits from these blessings as well. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
9) I now leave a blank cheque for Father YAH to fill with every other judgment regarding apathy on this earth. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
